Built for the way faculty actually work — in the gaps between courses, on whatever device is at hand, across whatever institutions you teach at.

Office hours, peer review, syllabus revision, committee email, advising conversations — the invisible labor that fills an adjunct's week. Logged in 30 seconds; visible at year-end.
Adjuncts often teach at two or three institutions at once, and at different ones from year to year. Your activity log lives in your FAR account, not on any one institution's server.
Each exported PDF carries a cryptographic verification code derived from your account, your activities, and your signature. Stronger documentation than a Word doc or an email attachment.
Built-in exports for spreadsheets (CSV), Workday VNDLY-ready bulk-upload format, iCal for personal calendar tracking, and the verified PDF for departmental review.
Opt in to the Academic Talent Network at signup and your profile is visible to universities recruiting for direct-hire adjunct roles. Skip the box and your record stays private. Either way, the tool stays free.
The three categories most adjunct effort reports require, with concrete examples in each.
Each exported PDF includes a cryptographic verification code. Here is how it is constructed, and what a department reviewer can confirm with it.
When you sign in the canvas, the image is stored along with an HMAC-SHA256 hash binding it to your account identity. The hash cannot be reused or transplanted to another account.
On export, a second HMAC-SHA256 is computed over your user identity, the activity count, the total hours, the signature hash, and the export timestamp. Any modification to the resulting PDF invalidates the code.
The verification code printed on the PDF can be cross-checked against the service to confirm that the report was produced here, by the stated account, with the stated content and signature.
Name, email, university, primary department. Approximately thirty seconds. No credit card.
One short form per entry. Pick a category, enter hours and a description. The interface is designed for quick, in-context entry rather than retroactive reconstruction.
Draw your signature on any device with a mouse, trackpad, or touchscreen. Re-export your activity report as a verified PDF whenever your department needs it.
For institutions, faculty affairs, and platform partners
Faculty Activity Report sits alongside the systems your institution already runs — not as a replacement. We integrate with the HRIS, VMS, and student-information systems where adjunct data already lives, so verified activity records show up where your compliance, payroll, and audit workflows are already pointed.
Where adjunct assignments, hours, and contracts live for institutions that buy contingent labor through a managed program.

Faculty Activity Report is free for individual adjunct faculty. There is no paid tier, no trial expiration, and no charge to export your own activity reports. The service is funded by an opt-in Academic Talent Network that connects participating faculty with universities recruiting for direct-hire adjunct positions. Opting in is voluntary and can be revoked at any time.
Every exported PDF includes a Cryptographic Verification Code at the footer, generated using HMAC-SHA256 over the user identity, activity count, total hours, signature hash, and export timestamp. The signing key is unique to each Faculty Activity Report installation. A department administrator can request verification of a code to confirm the report was produced by this service and has not been altered.
Three top-level categories: Teaching (contact hours, office hours, course preparation, grading, syllabus development), Research (manuscripts, presentations, peer review, grant applications), and Service (committee work, advising, accreditation activities, community outreach, mentoring). The description field is freeform, so the structure adapts to your institution's effort-reporting conventions.
You do. Your activity log, signature image, and exported PDFs belong to you. The service does not sell user data. The only optional data-sharing path is the Academic Talent Network opt-in, which you can decline at signup or revoke later. Deleting your account removes all associated activities, signatures, and metadata from the database.
Three differences: (1) the export is cryptographically signed and verifiable, which a self-edited document is not; (2) the data is structured by category and hours, so totals and time-period filtering are deterministic; (3) the digital signature is captured on the same device as the data entry, creating a single timestamped record rather than separate signed-and-scanned artifacts.
Faculty Activity Report is built to integrate with Workday VNDLY VMS for institutional deployments — pulling assignment and department data from VNDLY and pushing verified PDF artifacts back as document attachments. LMS integration (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle) and CSV/JSON export are on the roadmap. Institutions and platform partners can contact us through the inquiry form to discuss timing and scope.
The digital signature satisfies the basic requirements of the U.S. Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-SIGN, 2000) and most state Uniform Electronic Transactions Acts: it is captured with intent to sign, attached to the specific document, and the signer is identifiable through their authenticated account. Whether an individual institution accepts an e-signature for a specific report is a policy decision made by that institution.
Yes. Account deletion removes your activities, signatures, user profile, and Academic Talent Network preferences. Exported PDFs you have already downloaded remain on your device; the service has no copy of them.
We're launching with a pilot cohort of adjunct faculty. Use the tool, tell us what works and what doesn't, and your feedback shapes what we build next.
No cost. No commitment. We're not collecting reviews until real adjuncts have spent a real semester with the tool.
Department chairs, faculty affairs offices, and platform partners — tell us a bit about your context and we'll get back within two business days.
Free for individual adjuncts. Department/institution licensing available on request.
